Description	This 8" x 10.5" (20.32 x 26.67 cm) photograph of actress Dorothy Gish was taken between 1915 and 1925. The photograph is autographed to Irene Wales (1886-1973), a prominent resident of Massillon, Ohio. Gish (1898-1968) was born Dorothy Elizabeth de Guiche in Massillon, Ohio. To support her family, she acted in melodramas and posed for pictures with her sister Lillian as a child. Her first major role was in D.W. Griffith's An Unseen Enemy with her sister Lillian. Although she never achieved the same level of fame as her sister, Dorothy Gish acted in more than one hundred films.
