accurate
detail
for the

Although

De
Scott
Evans
'
reputation
for
skilled
depictions
of
fabrics
and
details
was
well
earned
. The
painting
even
includes
such
detail
as the
incised
decoration
on the
center
table
stretchers
. This
attention
to
detail
enabled
curators
to
identify
small
decorative
objects
still
on
site
that had been
moved
elsewhere
.
Removal
of
parlor
doorframes
in the
1990s
revealed
fragments
of the
Anglo-Japanese
wallpaper
depicted
by
Evans
.
