Description	Reverse reads in script and type: "City Library (not Cangie) in Westerville DATE TAKEN Feb 17-39 DATE PRINTED Feb 22-39 SUGGESTED CAPTION "Knowledge Portal" Photograph shows the entryway to the Westerville Public Library on South State Street. The building is made of brick and has sliding, paned glass widows. The entryway has a portico with four, square columns; the columns are smooth and have molded Tuscan capital. The ground and bushes in the foreground are covered in snow. The Westerville Public Library was established on December 15, 1930 and was located on the first floor of the residence of Purley Baker, temperance leader in the Anti-Saloon League. Cora Bailey was the librarian, and within several weeks it contained 3,062 volumes and 885 registered borrowers. in 1932, The library expanded to the second floor of the municipal building (which is today a part of the municipal complex on State Street).
