Description |
Carte de visite of General George Armstrong Custer, who served in the Union Army during the Civil War. A native of New Rumley, Ohio, Custer served as a cavalry commander in the Army of the Potomac. Custer fought at New Bridge, where he captured the first Confederate flag of the war, Chancellorsville, Brandy Station, Aldie, Gettysburg, the Shenandoah Valley, and Appomattox Courthouse. Custer went on to command the 7th Cavalry at the infamous Battle of the Little Bighorn in the Indian Wars. |
