Sadden Oeatli of & Business Man.
lr. Albert Dischinger, one of Port
Clinton's best known business men and
a universal favorite, died suddenly last
Thursday night about 9 o'clock, from
heart failure, aged 33 years.
He was teaching a young lady to
ride a bicycle and had run up and
down the street several times holding
the wheel in an upright position when
he complained of feeling ill and went to
the residence of Mr. Pledger and asked
for a drink of water. He had scarcely
made the request when he sank down
I upon the porch and expired.
Dr. de la JBarre was hastilv sum-
moned, and he pronounced the cause of
death to be heart failure superinduced
from the exertion above described.
The Doctor had treated him for heart
disease and had cautioned him not to
over-exert himself.
Mr. Dischinger was the eldest son of
Mrs. Elizabeth Dischinger, and early in
life was called upon to act the he^d of
the household, as his father died when
he was but a small boy. He was
capable, honest and upright, and in ail
his transactions he was just.
The responsibilities thrown upon his
shoulders early in life had prematurely
aged him, in fact as a boy he v/as al¬
ways a man, and thought of those who
were in a maimer dependent upon him,
first, and of himself later, if ever at all.
He proved an ideal son to a widowed
mother.
He was a carriage trimmer by trade,
learning the business at the factory of
Wm. Seutert. Later he was associated
with the Port Clinton Buggy Co. His
health failing him he retired from that
firm and later embarked in the meat
and provision business with his brother,
Mr. George L. Dischinger, in which
businesss he was engaged up to the
time of his death.
He leaves a widowed mother, Mrs.
Elizabeth Dischinger, a sister, Mrs, J.
; Caspersen, and two brothers, Messrs,
| George L. and Otto 'Dischinger, to
j mourn his loss. */- -^ f~/$f$
The funeral was held Sunday after¬
noon at 2:30 from the U. JB. Church.
The services were conducted by Key.
Mr. Fletcher. His body was buried in
Lakeview cemetery with all the boners
of the Knights of Pythias, of which
lodge he was a charter member.
