She was reared in a Chris¬ tian home and lived a humble sincerely devoted life to her home and her children, the home which she and Milton Apling created when they were married January 19, 1909. The children who survive are: Mrs. Reuben Pill- more, Port Clinton; Wilson Ap¬ ling, Locust Point; Mrs. John Peters, Locust Point; Private Ervin Apling, some where in England; Albert and Norma Ap¬ ling at home. There are two brothers and four sisters who survive Mrs. Apling, Lindly and Ed Wilbert Humphrey and a brother Roland who preceeded her in death; sis¬ ters Mrs. Charles DeWitt, Mrs. Walter Rice, Mrs. Silverton Win¬ ters, and Mrs. Albert Gratop.
Mrs. Apling was accepted with kindness by all who had her ac¬ quaintance. The pages of her life have been written on the charac¬ ter of her children, the open door of her home and her expression of the love of her neighbor are suf¬ ficient to create thoughts of re^ membrances and words would only destroy these.
She was affiliated with the Locust Point United Brethren Church and the Ladies Progres¬ sive Club of Locust Point. The services were held in the church, Sunday, February 20, at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. A. W. Pringle in charge and the interment took place in the Rusha Cemetery with W. H. Hetrick the funeral di¬ rector, officiating.
