Last rites for Henry G. Avers, [60, of Washington,' 0, C, were? held at the Sabroske and Myers funeral home here Wednesday af¬ ternoon, Dr Alvin E. Bell, pas¬ tor of Glenwood Avenue Luther¬ an church, Toledo, officiating and interment in Union cemetery at Elmore.
Henry Avers, a brother of Ed¬ ward Avers ok Lincoln street, was born in Elmore March 6, 1886,; and died at bis late home in Washington, D. C, Sunday, Jan¬ uary 19, 1947, after an illness of several weeks. He was a gradu¬ ate of Elmore high school, a mem¬ ber of the class of 1902, and of Ohio Northern University at Ada and also attended'George Wash¬ ington University at Washington* He was connected with tne Coast and Geodetic Survey in Washington since 1908 and Chief Mathematician, Division of Geod¬ esy* since 1924. He was a mem¬ ber of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Washington, the Ma¬ sonic Order and a large number of learned societies.
He was united in marriage to Helen Nelson of Washington, D. C, May 14, 1924. He is survived by his wife, an invalid for a num- }berof years; a brother, Edward oC Elmore; t it. Mks Emma
