About this collection

OHS Selections contains a wide variety of digitized material drawn from the Ohio Historical Society’s extensive archival, historical object, and audiovisual collections. It showcases the breadth of amazing materials available through the organization. In the over 10,000 items in this digital collection, you will find documents such as the original 1802 Ohio Constitution, as well as the 1851 Constitution; photographs such as a Ulysses S. Grant Carte de Visite and an Annie Oakley photograph; manuscripts such as William McKinley’s Civil War diary; archaelogical objects such as a Fort Ancient ceramic jar; and several early maps of Ohio like the map created by John Melish in 1812.
