Description	This day book was kept by Henry Bishop of Findlay, Ohio and records purchases and expenditures. The first ten pages of the day book, which cover September 16, 1842 through September 1, 1844, are digitized here. The day book is on one roll of microfilm. Henry Bishop (1820-1855) was born in Franklin County, Ohio. He joined his brother John in Hancock County, where he learned printing at the local newspaper, the Hancock Courier. Bishop purchased the Hancock Courier on January 24, 1839 and published it until July 1, 1845. He was thought to be a forceful if illogical writer. He was a member of the Baptist church. Bishop was a member of the Democratic Party and represented Hancock County in the Ohio Legislature in 1851 and 1852, taking his seat wearing a hunting shirt and leggings. When Bishop drowned in June 1855, he left a widow and six sons.
