Description	This buggy dates from approximately 1907. It was manufactured in Marshallville, Ohio by the Wiemer-Gerstenslager Company. The company is believed to be the first to use rubber to cushion the carriage wheels. The buggy measures approximately 6 by 8 feet (1.83 by 2.44 m). Three Gerstenslager brothers founded the carriage factory in Marshallville, Ohio in 1860. The company built a larger factory in Wooster (with assistance from the Wooster Board of Trade) and moved there in 1907. The company later diversified and focused on manufacturing customized truck bodies, trailers, and specialized vehicles. In the late 1950-1960, they also manufactured bookmobiles and mail trucks. By the beginning of the 21st century, the company banked, stamped, assembled, and painted more than 2,000 different products for the automotive industry. The company has also been known as the Wiemer and Gerstenslager Company of Marshallville, Gerstenslager Buggy Company, and its present name, the Gerstenslager Company.
