Description	This forty-page document relates to the construction of a new county road in Ohio Township in Gallia County in 1898. The pre-printed form booklet contains the documents required by law to build a new road or make road improvements. It includes a petition for a new county road. There are also records relating to individuals whose property "will be rendered less valuable by the opening and construction of said road" along with requests for compensation ranging from three to sixty dollars. Also included is a remonstrance to the county commissioners stating that "it is an impractical route; that a good road cannot be made over said survey; that it will not accommodate anything like a majority of the traveling Public." Other documents included include a map and surveyor's report, an application for damages, and an account of pay received by the survey crew. The pages range in size from 4.75 by 8.25 inches (12.07 by 20.96 cm) to 14 by 8.25 inches (35.56 by 20.96 cm).
