Description	Two account sheets of Eleazer Wood (1783-1814), for whom Wood County was named, document his time as a lieutenant colonel under William Henry Harrison during the War of 1812. At that time, officers paid for the equipment, food, and miscellaneous supplies they needed themselves and maintained records of their time and expenses. The account sheets document his expenses for subsistence from January to June 1813 and pay for his troops from March to June 1813 ($322.80). Officers were later reimbursed for their expenditures. In 1813, Wood supervised the construction of Fort Meigs. The fort survived two sieges by British and American Indian troops in May and July 1813. Wood later fought at the Battle of the Thames and was killed in a skirmish at Fort Erie near Ontario, Canada in 1814. Wood County was named in his honor in 1820. The pages range in size from 7.6" x 12.4" (19.4 cm x 31.4 cm) to 12.4" x 7.6" (31.4 cm x 19.4 cm).
