PRIMA DONNA SINGS DUETS WITH HERSELF
Phonograph Record and Voice Blend Perfectly in Songs.
An unique and highly interesting entertainment was given Wednesday night before an audience which al¬ most filled Memorial Hall by Mme. Marie Rappold, soprano of the Met¬ ropolitan opera, who sang in unison with her own voice on the phono¬ graph, assisted by Mr. Albert Walsh, violinist who played in unison and duet with the records of violin solos by Albert Spalding and Carl Flesch.
It was an exhibition to show to what degree of perfection in re-cre¬ ating musical tone Thomas A. Edison has reached in what is commercially known as the Edison disc record. It was given under the auspices of the Morehouse-Martens Company.
