Description	Sheet music of The Crusader's Appeal highlights the role that women played in the temperance movement. Many women felt that temperance, a movement whose ideals ranged from moderate use of alcohol to total prohibition, would improve their lives and the lives of their children. Ohioans were vigorous supporters of the temperance movement. Music served an important function in the temperance movement; crusaders often stood outside saloons singing temperance songs trying to shame the proprietor to stop selling liquor. The music measures approximately 8 x 13 inches (20.32 x 33.02 cm).
