Description	This program is from the nineteenth Open Students' Concert, presented on May 2, 1930 at John Hay High School auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio. Sponsored by the Cleveland Institute of Music, the concert featured performances by institute students. The concert concluded with a production of Bizet's opera Carmen under the direction of Rudolf Schueller, who was the leading conductor at the Royal Opera of Vienna and the Royal Opera of Romania before coming to the United States in 1924. In 1927, he was hired as orchestra conductor for the opera program. This program is four pages long and measures 8" x 4.75" (20.32 x 12.07 cm). Cleveland Institute of Music's opera program began in 1928 under the direction of Marcel Salzinger. Since the institute did not have performance facilities, concerts and opera productions were performed in Cleveland locations such as The Play House and Severance Hall. In 1937, Boris Goldovsky assumed the leadership of the opera productions.
