Description	This photo album belonged to Rachel Morgan Thomas Hartupee, who grew up in Scioto County, Ohio. The photos are mostly from her side of the family, and date from the 1840s through the 1870s. One particular person of note present in the album is Joseph McDougal. McDougal was a schoolteacher in Pike County. Morgan’s Raid, when Confederate General John Morgan raided through Southern Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia, passed through Pike County on July 16, 1863; McDougal was part of a party of local men who felled trees and laid them across the path, then defended the roadblock. They held Morgan up for several hours, before being captured, and marched with the troops. The prisoners were searched for money, and the raiders took ten cents from McDougal. He then reportedly said that it was ten cents more than he wanted them to have. He was pulled out of line, and questioned, then set adrift in a boat on the Scioto River. Almost immediately, Confederate riflemen shot and killed him. His corpse was allowed to drift down the river as a warning. Other identified individuals in the album include: Chas W. Thomas Eva H.
