Description	Four photographs show the blizzard of January 1978 in Marion County. Once the storm hit, snow drifted over rooftops of one-story buildings, as seen in the first image of an outbuilding at the Forest Loudenslager farm. Much of the state was shut down for several days while Ohioans labored to clear roads, driveways, and sidewalks. The second photograph shows a car driving on a cleared road. Snowmobile owners volunteered to provide assistance to those needing supplies or emergency transportation. The third image shows people stocking up on food at a local grocery store. The final image shows volunteers deciding whom to assist next. When the snow thawed in the spring, there was significant flooding in western Marion County. These 8" by 10" (20.32 by 25.4 cm) photographs are part of a larger collection of photographs taken by the Marion Star newspaper.
