Description	Dr. Betty June Myers, a scientist for the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C. and an Ashland, Ohio native, is shown in these four photographs. The 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.78 cm) photographs show her working in the lab. Betty June Myers (1928-1997) was born in Ashland, Ohio and graduated from Ashland College in 1949. She received a master's degree in zoology from the University of Nebraska in 1951. In 1959 she was awarded a Ph.D. from McGill University in Canada. She taught parasitology at Ashland College in 1951 and McGill University from 1959 to 1964. Her experience in parasitology and tropical medicine led her to work in the field of research medicine for various organizations. In addition, she traveled extensively to Tahiti, Hawaii, Africa, Japan, Canadian maritime provinces, and the Arctic. She served as president of the American Microsopical Society published 72 articles in scholarly journals.
