Description	This six-page journal entry records the first business conducted by the Associate Judges of Warren County at the house of Ephraim Hathaway in Lebanon, the place designated as a temporary seat of justice by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Ohio in March of 1803. Documented here is the layout of four townships within the county: Deerfield, Franklin, Wayne, and Hamilton. The Associate Judges agreed to hold an election for 11 Justices of the Peace of the four townships, a Sheriff, a Coroner, and a House Representative in compliance with "... An act to regulate the elections of Justices of the Peace and for other purposes..." of the Legislature of the State of Ohio. The election of a Recorder and the appointment of a Treasurer by the Associate Judges are also documented here. At the end of this selection is a record of the court-granted license to Jonas Seamons to keep a house of public entertainment which became known as The Golden Lamb, Lebanon's historic inn. The journal measures 7.5" x 12.5" (19.05 x 31.75 cm).
