Description	This four-page pamphlet titled Van Cleve Notes, which features an advertisement for the Wright Cycle Company, measures 5.12" x 7.5" (13 cm x 19 cm). This piece encourages buyers to purchase bicycles built with quality in mind rather than fashion and includes information on the different models and repair work. "Van Cleve" referred to the Wright Brothers' ancestors after whom they named their first model of bicycle. Wilbur and Orville Wright had experience in the printing business in the 1890s before they shifted their energies to bicycle repair and manufacture. They became interested in flying and experimented with new techniques. On December 17, 1903 they were the first to fly a heavier-than-air craft. This item is part of Wright State University's Wright Brothers Collection of approximately 6000 items, including over 200 technical books, journals, and pamphlets accumulated by the Wright Brothers, over 500 items related to their research, business, and legal endeavors, more than 1,000 genealogical items gathered by Bishop Milton Wright and Orville Wright, nearly 3,600 photographs, and over 700 items representing awards and other memorabilia.
