To the Honorable President and

Gentlemen.
The following preamble and
resolution adopted by the Trustees of Water Works is respectfully
submitted for your consideration, and if approved by your
Board an early reply is requested.
Whereas: The Board of Water Works seeing the necessity of providing
fire protection to the 1 st [superscript] Ward Public School building and furnishing a
water supply to as many consumers as possible, and having but a
limited sum of money to extend the pipe line, therefore be it,
Resolved: That in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars
to be paid by the Board of Education on or before December 1 st [superscript] 1877
the Trustees of Water Works agree to extend the pipe line to said
building, and to give a perpetual supply of living water, free
of charge for school purposes, to all public school buildings now
used, or that may be hereafter used for that purpose under the
jurisdiction of the Board of Education of the City of Sandusky, O, when
located adjacent to Streets having water mains therein.
Nothing herein is to be construed to require the Trustees of Water Works to put
in water pipes + fixtures inside said school buildings, or grounds.
