Description	These two photographs show children at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. In the first photograph, a group of children are entering the Main Library, around 1930. The photograph measures 5" x 7" (12.7 x 17.78 cm). A second photograph shows the Main Library's Children's Room about the same time. It measures 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm). The Youngstown Library Association was established in 1880 with a collection of 168 volumes. After the city passed a levy in 1891, the library was able to expand and opened at the corner of Market and Front streets. The sale of the property in 1907, along with a gift of $50,000 from Andrew Carnegie, allowed the library to relocate to the corner of Wick and Rayen streets. The building underwent extensive remodeling in 1954 and 1995-1996.
