Dear Friends
Your affectionate Epistle of 4th mo 1818
did not reach us in time for Our meeting last year
it hath been [carrot mark] read [above carrot mark] at this time to Our edification and
encouragement. We have again been favoured by
the extending of Our heavenly Fathers love to
transact the weighty concerns of Society that

Our minds have been [Our...been crossed out] and altho by the reports
from the subordinate meetings there are dificien
=cies which excite Our minds to the [crossed out] encourage the
honest hearted to labour for the advancement of
Our testimonies, in which we have [in...have crossed out] yet we have
cause to believe that among the beloved youth
there are those preparing, in the divine hard to
succeed others, whose minds in the decline of years
are comforted in the hopeful prospect of a suc-
=cession of Standard bearers. may these by dedication
both with you and us be cloathed with an increase
of the power by which the Church may advance

divers Brethren from neighbouring yearly Meetings
