Description	This tool, made by Lovel Parker (1762-1842) or one of his sons, is approximately 12 inches (30.48 cm) long and 3 inches (7.62 cm) wide at the head. Parker was a blacksmith who settled in Kinsman, Ohio around 1804. The tool is a crude hammer made of two twigs and a piece of cast iron attached with a leather strap. The iron is embossed with the family name. It was used to build the family homestead.
