Twenty Reasons for Membership in this Patriotic Society :

I. It encourages research into the events of the Revohition and foundation of our Government.
2. It secures closer study of the statesmanship which erected the Northwest Territory, the grandest achievement of the Old Congress.
3. It leads to a better knowledge of the establishment of a great Nation upon the enduring principles of our Federal Constitution.
4. It traces the subsequent career of the great men who were partici¬ pants in these memorable events.
5. It celebrates the erection of the State of Ohio, founded by T^evo- lutionary soldiers and statesmen, and dedicated by them as the home of the free forever.
6. It encourages admiration for the heroism and self-sacrifice of the best men of the noblest age in the history of any country.
7. It promotes patriotic sentiment in this and future ages.
8. It connects the present day and generation with the events and people of the Revolutionary period by the strongest ties known to men.
9. It gives our children a better comprehension of a glorious past.
10. It develops appreciation of the valor and suffering of our ancestors in the greatest trials ever endured by patriots in a high and holy cause.
11. It preserves the archives of the early days of the Republic by inspiring effort to rescue from oblivion every particular of the struggle

12. It celebrates appropriately from year to year the anniversaries of the great events of the golden age of our country.
13. It brings to light family records of priceless value to the public, now and hereafter, that would otherwise be forever lost.
14. It inspires in the rising generation a desire to emulate the great achievements of the past.
15. It brings into bold relief the influence of the fathers of the Revolution, on their sons, in our Second War with England.
16. It demonstrates the power of their influence upon later descendants, in behalf of freedom and equality, in the War of the Rebellion.
17. It quickens pride and affection for our great State, the home and burial-place of more survivors of the Revolution than any other new State of the perpetual Union they established.
18. It perpetuates the memory of these men by recounting the history of their good work in Ohio, where the membership of this Society should be larger than in any other State.
19. It procures the means for the publication of important historic works.
20. It appeals to the sons of Ohio to preserve for posterity the proudest records in a precious history.

Organized April 11, 1889, by less than a score of Revolutionary descendants, the Ohio Society has increased steadily in membership and is to-day more prosperous than ever. Application blanks will be forwarded by the Registrar, Col. Wm. L. Curry, or the Corresponding Secretary, Jos. P. Smith, at Columbus, O. The membership fee ."'of $5.00 includes the annual dues of $2.00 for the first year. Checks payable to W. R. Parsons, Treasurer, should accompany applica¬ tions.
