Description	John Kilbourn, nephew of Worthington founder James Kilbourn, published the first edition of his Ohio Gazetteer or Topographical Dictionary in 1816. This volume, the title page of which is inscribed "John Wilson" was a sixth edition, published in 1819. The book describes settlements, villages, towns, counties, roads, rivers, lakes, springs, mines, and other natural features of the state. It was a valuable resource for early Ohio settlers. It is 176 pages long and measures 4 by 6.6 inches (10.16 by 16.83 cm). Digitized here are the title page and preface and sections dealing with Franklin County, the Scioto River, and Worthington.
