Description	This 15 by 6.5-inch (38.1 by 16.51 cm) frame contains silhouettes of Mila Thompson and an unidentified man, along with an invitation to a New Year's Ball at the Griswold Inn. Mila Thompson (1798-1871) was the daughter of William and Anna Belden Thompson. Thompson was a major landholder in the Scioto Company and served as associate judge of the Franklin County Court. Mila married George Griswold, whose family was also among the founders of Worthington, in 1820. The couple had eight children and later lived at the Griswold Inn, which had been established by George Griswold's parents in 1811. The inn had a second-story ball room that was a popular venue for gala events such as this New Year's Ball.
