Description	In this 1912 letter to Vadae G. Meekison of Napoleon, Ohio, Margaret Foley of the Ohio Woman Suffrage Association asks Meekison to send her copies of any newspaper reports on suffrage activities in Henry County. The two-page letter measures 6" x 9.25" (15.24 x 23.5 cm). Meekison (1884-1981) was born in West Virginia and lived in Kansas, Michigan, and Indiana before moving to Ohio with her husband George. She received her law degree from Valparaiso (Indiana) University and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1907. When she began her law practice in Napoleon in 1926, she became one of the first women to practice law in Henry County. She was a critical figure in Ohio's women's suffrage movement because of her work as a speaker, petitioner, and local organizer. Her papers include personal correspondence and form letters from Ohio Suffrage Association President Harriet Taylor Upton and other officers, describing plans for pro-suffrage campaign strategy and lecture tours in Henry County and northwest Ohio.

Full Text	[written on letterhead of the Fremont Hotel] Fremont, Ohio June 18, 1912 My dear Mrs. Meekison- I'm wondering who is running the Suffrage League in Napoleon. I hope very much it is your sweet self else I shall be terribly disappointed I wrote Mrs. Upton about you, as being the only live wire in Napoleon. I do hope she caught on and will drop Mrs. Mowry, until Sept. 3rd at least. Did you manage to get anything in the papers and will you kindly send me three copies
