Description	This article, printed in the Xenia Semi-Weekly Gazette in honor of the laying of a time capsule in the cornerstone of the Greene County Courthouse, speculates on what life will be like in 2001. The author speculates that Xenia will be a thriving city with skyscrapers and that residents will no longer use electricity for heat and lighting in favor of new methods. In January 1901, the building commission overseeing the building of the new Greene County Courthouse asked the Masons to take charge of ceremonies to commemorate the laying of the cornerstone. A "deposits committee" was formed to collect the items to be buried in a small copper box under the cornerstone during the ceremonies on March 15, 1901. The box remained buried until February of 2001, when it was recovered and opened for the centennial ceremonies on March 15, 2001.
