Description	Four photographs document the streetcars that were part of the earliest mass transportation system in Lorain, Ohio. This first is "The Doloros" a funeral car used to transport mourners and the deceased from the church to the cemetery. It served the churches along Reid Avenue in Lorain. The second photograph shows women boarding the streetcar. Two other photographs show cars belonging to the Lorain Elyria Street Car Line, which was constructed and owned by the Johnson Steel Company to provide an efficient means for its workers to travel between their homes and workplace. The company also owned the right of way from Grove Street in Lorain to Elyria. This right of way eventually became State Route 57. Streetcars were used in Lorain from 1894 until 1938. The photographs measure 8" x 10" (20.32 x 25.4 cm).
