Description	These portraits document the first two presidents of the Lakeside Federation of Women's Clubs (LFWC). First is a 6.3" x 9.63" (16 x 24.46 cm) portrait of Mrs. Malcolm Kelley, president of the LFWC in 1894 and 1895. Also shown is a 5.27" x 7.33" (13.39 x 18.62 cm) portrait of Mrs. Lola Hurd Selover, president for 1895 and 1896. The LFWC organized in 1894 after a few area women's clubs met to choose a speaker for Women's Club Day, August 1, 1894, at Lakeside. Emily H. Miller, dean of women at Northwestern University, was chosen to speak and the day was a great success. The women then decided to form the LFWC. Clubs from Cleveland, Port Clinton, Oak Harbor, Lakeside, Ottawa, Bucyrus, and Napoleon were among the first members the federation, which continues to meet every July.
