To Jesse B. Thomas Entered

Know all men by these presents that I John Chapman 
(by occupation a gatherer and planter of Apple Seeds) of the County 
of 	and State of Ohio for and in consideration of the 
sum of thirty Dollars lawful &c to me in hand paid by Jesse B. Thomas of the County 
of Knox and State aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted 
bargained and sold by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the sd Jesse B. 
Thomas his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and 
being in the County of Knox aforesaid being inlot in the Town of Mt. Vernon Known and 
designated on the general plat of said Town is lot number One hundred and forty five 
(145) To Have and To Hold the said granted and bargained premises with all the privi= 
=leges and appurteuanes to the Same belonging or in any way appertaining to the only 
proper use benefit and behoof of the said Jesse B. Thomas and his heirs and assigns forever-And 
I the sd. John Chapman for myself my heirs Executors and administrators do covenant 
and engage the above derived premises to him the sd. Jesse B. Thomas his heirs and assigns 
against the lawful claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming by through 
or under me forever hereafter to warrant and defend by their presents-In Testimony 
whereof I the said John Chapman have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of 
November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty eight
