Title	Act Adjusting the Boundary Line Between Athens and Gallia Counties

Description	This act was signed on January 30, 1807, to redraw and modify the existing county line that separated Athens and Gallia counties. The act is one page and measures 10.25" x 17.25" (26.67 x 43.82 cm) In the late 1790s Washington County comprised nearly the entire eastern half of the state. By 1806 Washington County had been reduced to the southeastern corner of the state along the Ohio River. In this region Washington County was divided into Jefferson (1797), Belmont (1801), Athens (1805), and Gallia (1805) counties. Parts of Athens and Gallia counties would later be subdivided into Meigs (1815), Jackson (1819), and Vinton (1850) counties.
