Title	The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company statue dedication program
Subject	Lincoln, Abraham, 1809-1865--Pictorial works.

Description	The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana held a banquet to dedicate the unveiling of the Abraham Lincoln – The Hoosier Youth statue on September 16, 1932. On the cover of the program includes a photograph of The Hoosier Youth statue carved by Paul Manship. The bronze statue depicts a young Abraham Lincoln as frontiersman of Indiana. Abraham Lincoln lived in Indiana from the age of seven until he was twenty-one. Lincoln is depicted at the age of twenty-one leaning against a log with his left hand place on a hound dog while his right hand clenching a book. An ax is placed next to log trunk. Page 2 includes more details of Lincoln’s history as a Hoosier youth and details about the statue and its sculptor. Page 3 lists items of interests about the statue. Page 4 and 5 includes the program of events. The dedication of the statue occurred from 12:30-1:30 p.m. followed by the Second Annual Lincoln Student’s Luncheon at 2:00 p.m. and The Tribute of Youth at 3:00 p.m. Page 6 contains more information about the guest speaker of the dedication, The Honorable Arthur M. Hyde, the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States. Page 7 describes four of Lincoln’s dominant characteristics: patriotism, justice, fortitude, and charity. Each characteristic is represented as a bronze medallion placed on the statue’s pedestal.
