Coalton August 20 1897.
Dr Sir:
Another busy day with some tedious
waiting hours in Wellston early and sought the committee
and made an arrangement for the proper reception of
the Provision. The car arrived at 10 a.m. and we sought
to divide it an former ratio between Wellston Glenroy
and Coalton. There was no memorandum of contents
We found 37 1/2 lbs of flour 7 or 8 packages of meat
a large quantity of corn meal, crackers apples
potatoes, beans &C billed at 12000 lbs.
There was no issue made to day as one was made
recently. tomorrow at 9 a.m. they will issue again. Their
method is to put the [caret] goods with [written above line] 4 or 5 merchants who have consented
to give it out on orders from the committee. A strict
account is kept of all that is sent to the stores and
receipted for by them. Tomorrow the secretary will
issue orders on presentation of an order from
the mine committee and secretary. A meeting was
