Description	In this letter from April 30, 1865, Esther C. Turrell of Bainbridge, Ohio tells of the passage of Abraham Lincoln's funeral entourage through Ohio. She recounts going to see the funeral in Cleveland with several people from the area. After President Lincoln was assassinated in 1865, his body was sent back to Springfield, Illinois for burial. The 1650-mile route from Washington D.C. to Springfield ran through Ohio from Erie, Pennsylvania to Cleveland, south to Columbus and west to Indianapolis. Along the way, mourners lined the tracks and special services were held. This letter is three pages and measures 4.5" x 7" (11.43 x 17.78 cm).
