T. Adolphcs Trollop- writes Tribune from Bom a full and circumstantial account of the trial and convic tion of Stephen Weston Healy on a charge of libel, in asserting that certain Ameri can sculptors were impostors and charla tans; that they were not in reality the creators of the workt which had gained for them reputation and emolument; that they were in fact incapable of producing such workt, which were in truth and reality the work of tha Italian subordinates who were employed in their studios. Judgiug from our own ex perience we suppose that few papers in America were not "favored" with expensively printed documents making these aososations agsinat well known American artists. It is a satisfaction to know, as the outcome of the trial, that Mr. Healr was convicted and sentenced to fifteen days imprisonment and 1000 francs fine, and also that the publisher of bis Italian organ was convicted with him, and sentenced to eight dayt imprison ment and 500 francs fine. For this result Americans are indebted to Mr. Conolly, a rising young American artist of Florence, who fought the battle of hit com patriots in the Italian court. The malignity and mendacity of Mr. Healy are shown in the very fact that such artists as W. W. Story, Harriet Hosmer, Larkin Meade, and others as famous, were the objects of bis accusations.
