It Is a fitting time in this connection to any just a few words as to tho service of Mr. Nash as Prosecuting Attorney, It is the universal testimony front men of all parties ami classes, that Franklin county has never employed the service of a mure diligent and capable ninl upright officer than Mr. Nash. Policeman ltyan arrested a man from Westervillo yestenlny, and while conveying him to the calnbuose struck him with A billy In a manner that lias aroused indignation among parties who helluva the treatment was without cause. Mr. Ryan, however, produces a witness who says he saw tho wholo transaction, Ho relates thnt tho Westervillo man, who is said to bo a hnlf-hrccd Indian, wns passing along High street Intoxicated, nud foolishly handling a gun, to tho Imminent peril of people n the street. Kynn selml tho Weslervillinn Yahoo, who resisted by striking the ofiicor with the gun on tho face. Ryan took charge of the gun, aul with the weapon In one hand and the other hand on the prisoner, proceeded down High street. In front of the Capitol the prisoner offered further resistance, pulling out a knife and making passes at the officer with it; whereupon ltyan laid the gun on the sidewalk and with his disengaged hand seized hi billy nnd struck the prisoner one blow and knocked him jlown, the harsh measure being uecessary to resist the attempt to tnb. This is what the eye witnes aforesaid tell. Other testimony will be introduced at the trial, and we rest the case till then. i'rnnkllu Comity Tnx Leite The following comparative statement show the amount levied on each one hundred dollars valuation in Franklin county for the year 1871, and also 1872, in the several townships, school district, village and city : Monlifrtnieny lmiiln , MidliFHin tHiihip tnivt'in't m lnKil iliMiiH Wini'lii sler m-lionl diBiricl.,, Ulnn-jmrt town Wine I it1 tor tint. 11 1 lilt hortnlis Hchtxil 1ihU jet Hiiimlton towiiNliii Truro tmnialiLp UVynoMs1.il I'm m-Iioh) dMrlet.
