Description	These four patches were produced for the historic Apollo 11 mission that resulted in the first successful landing of American astronauts on the surface of the moon on July 20, 1969. Commander Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon, followed by lunar module pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Michael Collins remained with the Command Module Columbia, orbiting the moon, during the lunar landing. The patches depict an eagle landing on the surface of the moon, talons holding an olive branch. Each of the four patches represents a particular manner that the owner was involved in the Apollo 11 mission. The Bird Watcher patch is "for those who witnessed the launch of Apollo 11 from Kennedy Space Center July 1969." The Mission Support patch is "for those who worked in any way to support the launch of Apollo behind the scenes or for a subcontractor." The Launch Team patch is "for those who worked directly as a member of the Apollo 11 launch team." The Recovery Fleet patch is "for those who were involved with a recovery of the Apollo 11 capsule after splashdown in the Pacific ocean."
