Esteemed Friend having a little time of Rest with Friends Jacob Carpenter and wife (she was Thomas [illegible]stock's Daughter) I think myself bound by the bonds of Christian love and friendship to let thee and thy Dear Charity know a little how we have spent our time since we have taken habitation and how we have got along thus far on our Arduous Engagement - I suppose Wm Fawcett whose [illegible] was very acceptable to us on his return gave you some information [illegible] we left Owl Creek mg after which we went on o miami quarterly mg which was very large and after this Close we went on and meetings nearly all of them to the north in Ohio except Derby [illegible] Creek adn perhaps one more then thro the mettigns belinging to the Branch Qr and from thence to White Water in Indiana and[illegilbe] all the mgs in that Qr I think about 20 in No this Quarter and [illegible] divided the cost Yearly mg the new on e is to be known by the name of New Garden next time they meeti in a Separate Capacity [illegible] them having just visited most of the meetings the [illeguible] was tryly a trembling oppertunity both to us and them [illegible] request fo the Shutters to be open at the Close then [illegible] thought friends parted in good degree of [illegib;e] United together into one body and in one Spirit [illegible] thankful for the favor manifested thro the Several [illegible] tho all is not as well as I could desire among Friends[illegible] the parts there seems a great declention from ancient purity and much want of a deep heart felt honest travel and [illegible] both on the part of those that are placed in Conspicuous [illegible] in the Church and heads of familys I have had to [illegible] the great want of Christian Zeal among us friends are very numerous in these parts generaly having large familys in so much that the Society are increasing fast in number both by population & request and I have fear the easy occasion and admission many find among us will have an effect to weaken rather than strengthen them or us
