Dear Brother Philadelphia 8 mo 12 1814
As I do not feel strength of body or of mind to write much, I have now as before red thy information annexed a copy of mine of this Morng to Bro WR so far as [illegible] 11 AM to give thee information. Before that time the Doctor had seen my Dr wife & proposed to me to call another physican at at 6 o Clk this evening to join him, he named first one & then another to each of whom I objected & then named another, which he assumed, not to know,, but as an Apothecary. so that nothing was feared & he left me not a little tried in my mind. however it was not long, before the energy which I have in general been favored with return and watching the passing time & since 1/2 past 11 while no visitors have been admitted & the Communication between my wife & Deborah being forbidden, its now past 5 PM without any returns of the chill & fever. So that It seems probable at least that a blessing has attended the exertion of the best [illegible] endeavours, as well in the Nurse, as in the Doctor. She had not confined herself to do nothing, but the doctor knew of and approved, but did several things energetic, besides fulfilling the Doctors proscriptions. There is much access of humble gratitude to the Author of all our blessings & factors, under the hope & prospect of my dear Companions gradual amendment, for we however, we are to wait for time to make manifest Deborah is much better.
The Cashiers of Bank Pennsa not being yet returned tis not now in my power to in close the post notes, but the day I had an account opened on the Bank of Pennsa in the name of Thomas Rotch of Kendal Stark County Ohio & therein I have deposited the sum of $9877.67/100.
