Dear Brother,
The occasion of the present is to advise that we yesterday recieved from Hazard & Agrault five setts of each so drawn by Basil Perine on Wm & Jn Haslett as follows, viz.
for Acct of W Rotch & Sons 573.2
W Rotch Junr 1042.30
Thos Hazzard 1933.30
thyself 657.60
which were presented yesterday, but for want of seeing them could get no answer, this morning, they were refused acceptance. with expectation that they might be paid but that it would be imprudent to accept, when eer their best endeavours might fail to accomplish it from proceeds of Rice coming here. they are all protested as usual by a Notary. Thou will of course inform each of our Bretheren, the import hereof, for self & Brot Miers, Thy affectionate Brother, Samuel R. Fisher
I wrote Brot Samuel a few days past, informg of my Sister Gilpin being taken ill the evening of the day, in which thou & thy Charity left us, she has had a severe spell, but is now on the recovery, & bravely considering she rode out this day in Co with my Nephew S Fisher, who also has had seemingly a bare escape from an evident prospect
