We have lately received dear Charitys, acceptable token of remembrance, written in Philadelphia on our beloved friends passing on their way to the western country, but it was more than a month on the way and the letter of information to us mentioned in said letter from Phila did not reach us untill a few days past, more than two months after the date, that we did not get any knowledge of your passing untill more than three weeks after ye were gone on your way.
I had thought of sending a like messenger as this after you to make some enquiry about the probable place of your settled abode, but was at a loss how to direct it, have therefore omitted writing untill now, when having a suitable oppertunity by on eof my sons to forward to New York from whence it likely may travel on to you before long, by which you may learn that we are yet in the state of mutability, and notwithstanding considerable endeavours have been made by us, and submitting to much confinement in order if it might tend to relieve from the difficulties of our temporal concerns but do not see but little prospect of obtaining that liberty which is exceedingly desirable, soemtimes we have thought seriously about the part of the country that you and many more have moved to but the way appears difficult, we have a pretty large
