Canton July 9th 1822
Dear Sir, I have considered and examined the subject you mentioned to me the other day respecting Comstock's conduct and think it presents new and imporant questions .
Without seeing the copy of our affadavit and warrant I cannot give a satisfactory opinion as to the justices liability but I am inclined to believe a jus[illegible] not a authorized by [illegible] issue a search warrant for goods or property alledged to have been [illegible] from Virginia
