        Dr Sir
                  At the request of Adam Hoops of the
  City of New York I enclose you $10-.. for the
  payment of Tax due on Lots No 7, 8 & 9 in the
  2nd quarter of the 10th Township in the third range
  of the Tract appropriated for Satisfying Warrants-
  for military Services for the year 1819 - I presume
  from what I have understood from Mr Hoops that
  you are acquainted with the Situation of the
  Lands, the above description is taken from the
  patent from the Untied States to him, if there
  should be any Surplus of the Money inclosed
  he wishes you to retain the same for the
  Taxes that may become due -
