Dear Thomas Nantucket 6 mo 27 1795
The loss the Bank has sustained is publicly known, the directors were unable to keep it secret, and, Rice, Jo Nichols & Son have been confined upon suspicion, but nothing delectory has been obtained.
We had a pleasant passage, arrived here about Seven & being since have not time to enlarge.
Please to leave the inclosed letter to Anthony & Son with, Asa, that he may put in Inco of the Oil & deliver it to Capt Bunker. Please to inform Capt Bunker, that my late arrival, & the packets both going early in the morning prevents my doing any thing about whale Oil, that Mitchels have our Sloop loaded & are about loading another, that if I can find an opportunity to send him two ton next second day, I will do it, but if it does not come by that time I would not advise him to wait an hour for it, as the Spm is wanted at this very time in Philadelphia. My love to Mother & Wm have not time either to write to them or add to this. Thy affect, Saml Rodman
