Esteemed friend
A long time since
we wrote a line to thee informing hat
we had rec'd an order from Eliakim Pitcher
on thee for 28 Dollars or near it
also mentioned that in case the Paten-
tee should legally recover a patent
for a machine that we should agree
to refund the money recd
in consequence of the order, to which
we recd no answer, after a long time
we again [illegible] the order for payment
by William Heald, who informed thee
would neither refuse nor accept it-
