Description	William McClelland asks Thomas Rotch what he wishes done with his sheep and the wool. He cautions Rotch that the lambs must be marked to keep them safe from mischief. 7.5" x 12.5" (19.3cm by 32cm) TR writes on back "answered by Power of Attorney"

Full Text	A-251-2 Stow Portage County May 25th 1821 Respected Friend, Your sheep in this neighbourhood are all shorn, the wool is yet undivided, and remains subject to your order - I think you had better send some Judicious person to see it divided after which we stand ready to convey your part to Kendal, according to agreement. The seeing the number of lambs and the markings of them I think ought to be also seen to, as the most of us have other sheep, that been to the same Ram, there is thereby a loose open deception did we feel so disposed, and as the peculiarity of the times call forth all the latent propensities of the human heart to mischief and deception of every kind I would suppose it best to have this part of the busness particularly seen to- Let me hear from you on this subject soon, be please also to let me know the best method to prepair Merino wool for Carding, as we will prepair our part and cary it down and have it carded when we deliver yours - very Respectfully I am your friend, William McClelland

I think you had beter authorise some juditious person, to see it devided after which we stand ready to convey your part to Kendal, according to agreement - The seeing the number of Lambs and the marking of them I think aught to be also seen to - as the most of us have other sheep that went to the same Ram. There is thereby a loose(?) open for deception did we feel so disposed - and as the pecularity of the times call forth all the deviant propencities of the human heart to mischief and deception of every kind I should supose it best to have this part of the business p[?]osly seen to - Let me hear from you on this subject soon -
