Dear
Uncle
I
wrote
thee
about
a
week
ago
inclo-
-sing
a
few
patterns
of
Cloth
and
about
a
week
previous
respecting
a
packer
-
I
have
since
engaged
a
picker
, but not
till
after
I
have
ascertained
the
kind
in
use
in
NYork
once
being
satisfied
that there were
upon
the
same
principle
we
use
here
I
mentioned
to
engage
one
-
knowing
that these
do
then
work
well
,
I
had
doubted
whether
those in
NYork
or
Connecticut
were
better
,
I
believe
they
feed
them
differenlty
but
I
apprehend
not
so
advantageously
, by
our
method
we
keep
different
kinds
of
wool
a
longer
or
shorter
time
in the
picker
, as
it
may
seem
to
require
and the
boy
who
feeds
it
is
directed
accordingly
,
while
those
fed
in any
manner
like
a
carding
engine
has not
so
fully
[illegible]
advantage
I
should
judge
these
pickers
would
mix
and
pick
enough
wool
for
8
billys
to
work
. his
is
much
more
than
thou
can
yet
want
-
I
have
regretted
that
thou
should be
put
to
expense
of
carriage
upon
a
machine
which
probably
might
be as
well
made
