Know all men by these presents that I, James S. Johnson of the City of Charleston Attorney at law and Administrator of the estate and effects of John Morrison late of Charleston of the State afore said have constituted and appointed and by these presents do constitute and appoint Thomas Rotch of Kendal Stark County of the State of Ohio my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name and stead to ask demand, sue for levy recovery and recieve such sum or sums of Money as are due or shall become due from Aaron Chapman to the Estate of John Morrison aforesaid upon certain notes of hand given by the said Aaron to the said John Morrison during the lifetime of the said John and now in the possession of the said Thoams Rotch namely Eight, given each on the twentieth of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventeen and each for two hundred dollars, also one given on the same day for fifty seven dollars eighty cents. Given and granted unto him said attorney by these presents full and whole power strength and authority in and about the premises to have use and take all lawful ways and means in my name for the recovery of the same and upon the recovery thereof and upon the receipt of such debt or debts or demands aforesaid, acquittance or other sufficient discharge of me and in my name in that behalf to make seal and deliver and generally all and every other act and acts, thing and things in the Law whatsoever need feel and necessary to be done in and about the premises for me and in my name to do execute and perform as fully lawfully and amply to all intents and purposes as I might or could do if I were personally present or if the matter required more special attention than is here given, and attorneys one or more under him for the purpose aforesaid to make and constitute and against pleasure to revoke, satisfying allowing and holding for me in effectual all and whatsoever my said atroney shall lawfully do in and about the premises virtue hereof.
